Our second offering of the newest wine in the ELLMAN suite— Elaine, in honor the matriarch of the Ellman family, is nothing short of singular. Comprised of a tiny barrel selection of the absolute finest our cellar has to offer, we are proud to present this exemplar expression of this idyllic growing season— marked by ample soil moisture and long, warm lingering summer days. The result is a stunning wine, with a deep, opaque ruby hue, velvety texture and ultimate precision. Profuse aromatics of blackberries, graphite, espresso, bittersweet chocolate, cigar box and a lilt of star anise effuse from the glass. The palate continues in generosity with layers unfolding from cassis nectar, black cherries and plums to intensely concentrated flavors of duxelles, demi-glace and marmite, with notes of salted licorice and formidable backbone of minerality, all coalescing with silken texture and an enduring finish.
